CARTIER Diamond Sapphire Bird Brooch in 18k Yellow Gold and Platinum.

A curious bird posing in "contrapposto" - perched on top of a, idyllic branch. Feathers are comprised of round Fancy Yellow diamonds, round blue sapphires as well as caret cuts. The bird's prey is in the form of an enchanting pear-shaped sapphire. A beautiful mid-century piece by the French maison of Cartier.

Measures approx. 3" in length, 3/4" in width. French Assay Marks, Makers Mark. Signed "Cartier"; circa 1950's.
