The story behind this necklace is truly iconic. It dates back to 1938 when Robert Dumas, a member of the Hermès family, was inspired by the shape of the links on a ship’s anchor. He designed a bracelet that echoed these links and named it ‘Chaîne d'Ancre’. The Maison described the bracelet as a “naturally balanced jewel with a sporty yet chic allure” and has been reinventing it ever since. It has been the basis of designs for necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets. This is a testament to the enduring appeal of the shape of these links, appreciated in their original in which are the best carnation - as in this classic necklace.
